Splunk MINT is no longer available for purchase as of January 29, 2021. Customers who have already been paying to ingest and process MINT data in Splunk Enterprise will continue to receive support until December 31, 2021, which is End of Life for all MINT products: App, Web Service (Management Console), SDK and Add-On.

Here's what's new in each version of the Splunk MINT Add-on.

What's new in this release:

  • The Splunk MINT Add-on uses the Python 3 interpreter for custom commands and REST handlers.

3.0.0

What's new in this release:

  • Version 3.0.0 of the Splunk MINT Add-on provides Python 3 support in Splunk Enterprise. You can run Splunk Enterprise version 8.0.0 in either Python 2 or Python 3 mode. For more information, see Python 3 migration with the Splunk platform in the Splunk Enterprise Python 3 Migration guide.

2.2.1

Version 2.2.1 of the Splunk MINT Add-on supports installation on Splunk Cloud. Further, refer to Fixed issues for more information.

2.2.0

The Splunk MINT Add-on has been released separately from the Splunk MINT App.


Upgrading from previous versions

You cannot upgrade from an earlier version of the MINT Add-on to version 2.2.0. You must perform a clean installation as follows:

  1. On computers running the MINT Add-on 2.1.0 or earlier, remove the $SPLUNK_HOME/etc/apps/Splunk_TA_mint directory.
  2. Restart Splunk Enterprise.
  3. Install and configure the Splunk MINT Add-on 2.2.0 as described in the following topics:
